If you liked ACOTAR I am pretty sure you are going to love A Tongue so Sweet and Deadly.

Lessia is forced into the Fae King's service by way of a blood oath binding her to do his bidding. When the King comes to collect, Lessia is offered her freedom in exchange for spying on the human elections. What happens next is a series of twists and turns that no one saw coming.

Sophia St. Germain has built a fascinating world in Havlands, featuring Fae, Humans, and Shifters, along with the challenges and conflicts between their respective nations. From the war of the past which still shapes the present  to the current governments, the story is full of excitement and drama. The book grabs your attention right from the start, and by the end, you'll be eager for more.

I am waiting with bated breath for the next installment to come out in 2025.

A Tongue So Sweet and Deadly

Author: Sophia ST. Germain

Rating: ♾️/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice: 🌶️

Synopsis: Elessia possesses the rare and dangerous ability to command others, a power that should make her unstoppable. But being half-fae, she is despised by both humans and fae alike, leaving her caught between two worlds with no place to belong. After a tragic accident involving her powers, Elessia is exiled to the Fae King's dungeons, where she spends five long years in captivity. Elessia is bound by a blood oath that forces her to participate in the election for Ellow, while secretly gathering information for the King. As she navigates the dangerous political intrigue of Ellow, Elessia must protect her newfound family, all while grappling with the threat of losing her freedom once again.

All I can say is wow. I NEED BOOK TWO IMMEDIATELY.

Sophia does an amazing job of intricate world-building. The history of the feud between Fae and humans is detailed I felt fully immersed in their world. From Elessia to Merrick the characters each have their own personality and background that makes each of them important to this story. Merrick surprisingly turned out to be one of my favorite characters while I still have my suspicions of Loche.

Another thing I loved was that this book was not predictable whatsoever. The twists were so unexpected I had to reread the pages to make sure I read it correctly. The trials she faces in the election are dark and I couldn’t imagine being in Elessia’s shoes.

It’s a mix of political rhetoric, romance, fantasy, and found family. The book is captivating and the characters are all interesting. I can see this series being the next big fantasy series. If you are a lover of the ACOTAR series I must recommend you check this out.
