I liked this book. It had a lot of plot twists and kept me engaged right until the end. But it was very long, the chapters are criminally long, and it's gruesome. Like really, really gruesome. I usually have a tough stomach for these things but this kept me up at night, not in a good way. If you have any personal experience with sexual violence, missing persons, or murder, stay far away.

Oh, to be able to blame all of the things that have gone wrong in you and your family's lives on one man.

the first 100 pages are incredibly boring and felt like i was supposed to feel for this rich beautiful white woman. there are also a lot more twists throughout the book than at the end which leaves the reader kinda wanting more? HOWEVER once we get past that it’s quite captivating. it is very dark and graphic (possibly past the extent we’d expect) so watch out for that but i wasn’t able to put it down. read at your own risk bc honestly incredibly disgusting and unsettling

*PLS CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS* The story was very predictable and the ending drags but it did keep me hooked throughout the story. If you are still getting into horror but already have a good understanding of what topics you can and can’t read then this is a book I would recommend. If you’re big into horror this book might be boring for you.
