The writing style(s) of this book are so interesting, and I was really hooked on everyone's stories. And goddammit was I full of rage at the North Dakota one. I think what works really well in this book is that you may start it thinking that you wouldn't have anything in common with the three women, but as you dig deeper, you feel like they're speaking part of you. We all desire and usually, we're blocked and hurt. I'll be thinking for a long time about the advice that Ms. Taddeo's mother gave her in the last portion of the book. I think she's right, and that sucks.

Ich fand die Geschichte einfach nur obszön und hatte zu viele beschriebene Sexszene.
Die Beschreibungen hinterlassen einen faden Nachgeschmack und ein sehr schlechtes Gefühl.

this is a non fiction but kinda written as fiction, especially maggies story. i feel like this book gives a realistic picture of what women go through in misogynistic society, where people doesn't support other women whom often are victimized by men and other women. my blood boils reading maggie experience and how she doesnt have a happy ending, which is realistic and exactly why it pisses me off so much. i love the prologue, it rlly gives a nice start and depicts what women experience but tbh disappointed in the way she told maggie s story and the epilogue. feels like she couldve done more and analyze more about feminism, misogyny, and desires.

all i have to say is that men are awful and time and again they prove how awful they can be and often innately are. women that support awful men with the knowledge of the extent of their awfulness are just as bad if not worse.
women deserve more. women have never been given what they deserve and they deserve so much more than a man can even conceive.
