There was so much death and killing in this book. I finally started to enjoy the book towards the end. I loved how the teenagers figured out how to save everyone. The ending was a sweet one.

A little prolonged but the ending was well worth it.

Just when you start to wonder how this middle grade series could possibly get darker, or the stakes higher, it happens. Honestly, I thought the third book was going to be the last in the series and I was a little dissatisfied with the ending, so I was excited to see this one in the bookstore one day--completely unaware that it existed. Revisiting these same characters was exhilarating, especially when the entire estate has turned against them and new faces were being introduced. I also love Serafina's voice and the audiobooks do a great job of making it come to life.

I just love this series! It’s a perfect middle school thriller/ghost story.

This book was an amazingly beautiful rollercoaster from start to finish. It was enthralling, entertaining, and overall just lovely to read.
