If you love the sport of gymnastics (like I do), this is a solid read. If you are interested in this book for the love story, you can find something more interesting. The romance is lackluster at best (almost Hallmark level cheesiness), and the male lead has virtually no personality. On the other hand, the journey of self-growth the female protagonist undergoes is wonderful, and the female friendships in this book are strong -- some of the best I've read recently. If this book had been written as a contemporary fiction with the romance non-existent or barely there, giving time for some of the gymnastic side-plots to be a fleshed out a bit more, it would easily have been a 4 star read for me (maybe even 5 star considering how much I'm missing the 2020 Summer Olympics). As is, I would also have given the book 4 stars, if the main character had not chosen to get back together with her love interest at the end and spent more time focusing on herself. I know it's a romance and that usually needs a happily ever after, but it didn't feel earned in this story. Plus that would have left room for a sequel down the road
