Wonderfully creepy read. The comparisons to the few seasons of American Horror Story I've seen are fair. I thought I knew how this would end but I was delighted to find out just how wrong I was.

I feel like I've been to the city of Tidepool. The writing for me was the perfect amount of description that never went too far. It's like those drawings that artists do with a few quick brush strokes and you see the subject clearly.

While all the characters where developed brilliantly (I especially enjoyed Ada's point of view), I'm afraid I fell absolutely in love with Quentin.

I am looking forward to more from Nicole Willson!

kinda the point of Lovecraft is he showed and never told, this book does a lot of telling.
also you don't have to just shoehorn transphobia in for some reason???

Uno de esos misterios que realmente no son misterios así que todo el tiempo te preguntas porque todo mundo hace lo que hace, lo que supongo es el verdadero misterio.

El concepto está cool, los personajes son meh.

this was great, gave me everything i wanted but just felt like the last couple chapters werent needed

I received this and as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to The Parliament House Press and Nicole Willson for giving me access.

This is Nicole Willson’s debut novel and it had me hooked from page one. Willson seemed to combine some of my favorite genres into one:
Historical fiction ✔️
Horror ✔️
Mystery ✔️
Suspense ✔️

We follow a strong willed woman in the early 1900’s in search of her missing brother in Tidepool, but what she finds will have you fearing any place surrounded by ocean water. I really enjoyed the darkness of it and the vibe that was created.
