I have new obsession with hockey romance! How have I only recently discovered the joy of hockey romance?! I love hockey, I love romance, & ofcourse I love books, so why have I only recently started reading hockey romance books? 
I loved this book!!! It brought together the joys and confusion of finding love, the fun of hockey, with the trauma of the past, & the healing journey  to move on. The author wonderfully mixed all these aspects together, in such an incredible way! 
And Hannah & Garret have such an amazing story; both healing from their own separate traumas, but coming together to support eachother in their journeys! They are #relationshipgoals 💜💜💜

Elle Kennedy has the ability to write about incredibly harrowing topics in such an empathetic and real way. How she can weave topics such as sexual assault and domestic violence into a gorgeous love story is truly admirable. The Deal is hard-hitting and definitely do not expect a happy-go-lucky romance, but it is beautiful and I would highly recommend this book.

one of the worst books i've ever read. i can't believe this is so popular. not only is this filled with stereotypes, deeply mysoginistic (and at times homophobic), and extremely triggering (tw : rape, abuse) and harmful, it also very badly written. save yourself the torture and avoid this book at all cost.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this. I think the MCs trauma was well written and realistic. The ~spice~ and general romance was also really well done. I liked that both of the characters had emotional growth throughout the book. 

My biggest issue with this book was the casual misogyny. Hannah seemed to be the only respected woman in the book because she played hard to get. She also fed into pick me stereotype of “not being like the rest of those easy girls”. 

But overall a cute book!

rapide à lire, je l’ai lu parce qu’il était passé sur tiktok il y a quelques années et que je voulais le retirer de ma liste. Beaucoup (beaucoup) de moments sont problématiques, des mots sont mal choisis, il y a des fautes.. mais je dirais que ça m’a changé les idées et j’ai passé un bon moment (par pitié retirez 80% des scènes de cul, c’est inutile). 2,5⭐️ pour l’effort et parce qu’on était en 2015 (d’où les leggings qu’elle porte ??)
