It was a very cute book, I laughed, I cried, and I definitely felt the emotions with the characters, especially in the end and the epilogue.

As a person with PTSD, I didn’t like how it seemed that their PTSD was magically cured by love, when that’s not how it works. Sometimes having support helps, but it comes in unexpected waves and storms, and this wasn’t portrayed in the best way.

Also, as a person who works with Deaf people daily as an interpreter, I think more research on the language could have made it more believable to me. There were a lot of phrases that were used that wouldn’t be used if people were signing because it’s not a translatable phrase. ASL is not just a signed version of English.

With more research and effort to try to make these parts more realistic could have easily made this a wonderful 5 ⭐️ read.

The story is sweet, although it dragged on a little at times. The sex scenes seemed a little immature and desperate, almost as if they were wattpad stories. There could have been less of them, too. My biggest pet peeve with this book was the repetitiveness of several of the phrases. Every time I read the word “delicious” I cringed. It would make a good drinking game though... Take a shot every time you see the phrases delicious, glittering, smiled a small smile (or any form of this same phrase) or I drank him in. Those were on every other page it seemed. Also, the “molest” comment was a little uncalled for and weird. It was definitely out of place and random. Aside from some immature writing and repetitive phrases, the story was okay. Definitely wasn’t a tear jerker though (I cry easily when I connect with a book.) This one just didn’t do it for me. All in all, it was alright. Wouldn’t recommend on my own, but wouldn’t stop someone from reading it if they wanted to.

First of all, I thought this book was supposed to be sad. Turns out it’s just cringe writing style from start to finish with excessive p*rn. Listening to this on audiobook may have been my first mistake. If I had to take a shot every time she used the word “furrowed” to describe the action of someone’s eyebrows, I would have been drunk before chapter 3. The phrases “I smiled a small smile” and adverbs “slightly” and “softly” had to be used over 1000 times. I was losing my mind, and I just was audibly laughing out loud whenever one of those phrases or words popped up. It was a great factor and a very big reason to me hating this book. Nothing says sexy like furrowed brows !!!!!! 😫😭

Now those are just my own pet peeves, but overall the book was just boring, awkward, and cringey.

 “I Bree you”

“I Archer you so much”

PLEASE 😭😫😫😫😭😭😭 it was so awful. I couldn’t take it. Again, don’t know if it would have been less cringey to read instead of listen to on audible. Ugh.

Bree was boring and immature to me. She was ready to drop her entire life and lifelong friends after dating a man for like 2 weeks. Then, he leaves for 3 months and she waits around for him like a lost puppy? No thanks.

Then, thinking this man literally died for her (since the writing style and the gathering / memorial? in town made it seem like Archer literally died). Just kidding he survived! Can anything else happen to this poor guy???? Loses his voice box. Watches both of his parents die. Then gets shot. It’s just too much turmoil for one character. Bree just wanted to fix Archer like a project and baby him at times. And the sex scenes were EXCESSIVE. Apparently he’s virgin that knows how to make a girl orgasm after 1 minute of teaching.

Overall, I don’t recommend unless you really enjoy lots of sex in books. 1/5. 😒

There are alot of reasons as to why I did not finish this book and that includes: lack of depth in characters, poor writing, insta-love, chapter 19?????, lack of depth into trauma and PTSD and the poor pacing. I was very nearly put into a slump by this book.
