Lack of research done by the author on the use of sign language, how to learn sign language, and anything remotely related to sign language in general. It was frustrating as a Deaf studies major to read this and was not able to finish it due to its inaccuracies. I’m severely disappointed

The bar was set so high I was disappointed.
We follow Archer and Bree as they each try to navigate their life and trauma mostly together and seperately. Bree shows up in town and meets with the mysterious Archer Hale, she's drawn to him and eventually learns he's mute due to a past accident. Having fled her hometown due to her own traumas and experiences, she is better placed to understand him.
I expected this book to dive deeper into their traumas or to explore more of their past, mke the plot thickens slightly but it felt predictable in many cannon events and ended on an expected note.
Having a mute character with so many intense emotions is quite fresh compared to other romance books, but in other aspects it felt rushed. Everything about him seems so convenient it just helps the story, he's a quick learner, he knows his ways and such.
Too many filler chapters of them making love, we could've explored many more themes in between.
The main characters are lovable and though it felt like we brushed a surface level subjects, their personalities make up for it cause they feel like golden retrievers.

There are alot of reasons as to why I did not finish this book and that includes: lack of depth in characters, poor writing, insta-love, chapter 19?????, lack of depth into trauma and PTSD and the poor pacing. I was very nearly put into a slump by this book.

I read a lot of romance, and a lot of bad romance. And I normally enjoy the books for the escape they are. I hated this book so much. What was the plot? Who are these people? Why does she never go home to let her dog out? Is this inspired by the movie Nell?

The beginning is kinda slow but other than that the storyline keeps you locked it. Archers childhood is rough but he is sweet, caring, vulnerable man that with have you think 'husband material'. <Be prepared to hate Travis in this book >. I would recommend this book
