A great novella in the Otherworld Stories series. I love Eve and Kris and I was so happy when they were able to find their workaround. This was a quick story and Eve was able to swiftly wrap up the job and return to her vacation.

Angelic is a novella set in the Women of the Otherworld universe and occurs somewhere between Living with the Dead and Frostbitten. Whilst you can read the main novels without the shorter works, I don't think these novellas work by themselves and will contain spoilers for the series. Originally, it was only available as a limited edition hardback through Subterranean, but has more recently been released as an ebook for those that missed out. I'm still a little sad that this is the only book missing from my Kelley Armstrong collection but it was great to have a chance to read it without paying secondary market prices. The Subterranean books seem to be easier to get hold of now that they also release ebooks and they are top quality books. I have both Counterfeit Magic and Hidden from them.

So it's a little story about Eve and her angelic duties. It's always nice to visit the Otherworld but there wasn't enough meat to the story. Yes, it's a novella, but I would expect one thing dealt with in more detail rather than a few things skimmed over. There was hardly any description of the djinn she was hunting and there was a couple of new minor characters to get to grips with. I'm not a huge fan of the illustration style either, although this is similar across the limited editions.

Eve has to put off her holiday with Kristof for a few days and I liked the sound of what she had planned. I think I would have preferred reading about the holiday more than a quick “mission”. As this year marks the final instalment of the series, I'm sure I'll be re-reading, in order, all the novels, novellas and short stories in the future.

I love the Otherworld books so am always happy to ready anything more about the various characters from Kelley Armstrong. Eve Levine is a great character to get a story from.
The reading was ok but the voice was really not right for this book. It sounded more like a nice polite old lady rather than a kickass former dark witch turned angel. It just wasn't strong and confident enough for Eve.

Angelic is a companion novella in the Otherworld series, so it’s really short and quite a fast read. I read it, and I’ve never read any of the other books in the series so I don’t think you have to, to fully understand what was going on in the book.
I enjoyed it, I thought it was something different and it had really interesting characters. So, if you love fantasy with angel/demon type characters then you might enjoy Angelic.
I think that Angelic is a good book to read if you’re looking at starting the Women of the Otherworld series because it provides a good insight into Eve’s world.
While I did enjoy Angelic, I don’t think I’ll be continuing on with the series as I feel like there are other books better suited to me than this one. If you like fantasy and awesome female characters, then you’ll definitely like this book.

I have not read an Otherworld book in a while so I figured reading Angelic would be a good way to jump back into the series. I enjoyed the story, although I fear I made have caused a few spoilers for myself since I'm not up to book 9 in the series as of yet. But the spoilers were nothing too surprising so all is fine in my Otherworld world. Eve was much more likeable in the book than I expected her to be considering the way in which she is painted by others in the other books (Haunted, in which Eve is the focus and narrator, is my next Otherworld read). Armstrong is very good at diving into a story and making it concise and enjoyable all in about 100 pages.
