While I have mixed feelings about the length of the book, it was a pretty good read! At some points I thought the story could have been conveyed in a much shorter novel, but at other times I truly appreciated the length because it gives the reader an in-depth look into the characters’ lives. That is perhaps the greatest strength of the novel, the character development.

I will say that every chapter of this book had me wanting more! Koontz makes it strikingly clear that there is a huge secret that will be revealed at the end of the book, and I was pleasantly surprised by his ability to maintain suspense throughout the entirety of the novel. In hindsight, I did think the final reveal did not completely explain some of the characters’ previous behaviors. This revelation caused improbable reactions in some of the characters in my opinion. For instance, one of the characters was able to let go of traumatic experiences that she went through as a child, but I don’t think what happened explains this reaction.

Overall, a pretty good book that keeps you on your toes! If you’re looking for a book with interesting characters and a lot of suspense, then Strangers is definitely for you!

This is my favorite book of all time please and thank you

If only humanity could undergo a change such as this. Friendship, love, caring, courage, and empathy would rule, not hate and destruction. 5 stars and a well done Mr. Koontz.

Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors, and this book is one of the reasons why. Although some of his works are hit or miss this one was very well written. You couldn't help but feel sorry for the characters as they all went through their own various ways of coping with what happened to them all. And not until almost they very end did I figure out exactly what it was that did happen to them. This, along with Lightning, are two of my all time favorite reads.

Other than the ridiculous length of this book it was really good. There were many parts that I felt were unnecessary and didn’t add anything to the story besides words. This book is 800ish pages and could definitely have been accomplished in 500 without sacrificing anything important.

This book was wild. That's about all I can really say

I enjoyed this book. It had some suspenseful moments. I wish I could have given it more than 3 stars. However...
It was long. Too long. There were many unnecessary characters and events which had absolutely no point except to add to the word count. And everything was described with such meticulous detail. Too much detail.

I was disappointed with the ending. It could have been so much more. Thankfully everything wrapped up nicely, but all that momentum built up in the beginning of the novel came to a somewhat unsatisfying climax. I found myself saying "REALLY???? That's it??".

Having said that, I did enjoy most of the characters. I loved Dom and his sleepwalking, Ginger and her fugues, and Jack.
I was genuinely hooked at the start of the novel. Unfortunately not impressed enough to give it more than three stars at the end.

I will defiantly give Koontz another try and look forward to reading more of his work.
