Oh I wanted to love this book I really did. The switching between events was a little too much, I couldn’t keep up with what was happening when and with who with the two different narratives.
The characters were strong and I love Jia Li that woman has my heart.
The only part of the book for me that was great was maybe the last 40 pages- it was fun and sweet and a very slow start with fast decisions
I will keep this book though, might be easier another time- I really do like the characters made by the author the way she wrote them made them so easy to imagine

I recently completed reading the novel 'Lovestruck', a delightful and comforting love story that may appeal to readers seeking a quick and effortless read.
Being a devoted admirer of Williams' writing style, I had high anticipations for this latest publication, and while it certainly didn't disappoint, it didn't top my list of favourite works by this author. This could be attributed primarily to the predictable plot, although the book's format could also benefit from some enhancement. Nonetheless, I found the dual timeline to be a compelling narrative style, and the characters were both well-crafted and endearing.
The conclusion was particularly satisfying, making this book an excellent choice for a beach read in 2023.
Overall, if you're a romantic comedy enthusiast, I would undoubtedly recommend giving 'Lovestruck' a chance.

Love the concept of split timelines/possibilities and how fate always has its way in the end. This is the second book I’ve read from this author and look forward to reading more of her work.

i loved the dual timeline, and especially the moments where the parallel decision showed up in the other world. i knew fairly early what the conclusion was going to be but didn’t really feel anything for that pairing until fairly late, which felt a little mismatched and didn’t make me absolutely love the book overall, but it was well done and thought provoking around domino effect, terrible men, etc.
loved that it was a love letter to kings heath, a place i also love!

Review:
For some reason I was really nervous going into this book and i honestly have no clue why? I guess it was because it was 400 pages? That’s kinda long for me lol. I shouldn’t have been nervous because I really enjoyed this one!
The dual time line was incredibly cool, I think that’s what made me pick this one up. I love that we got to see the results of Becca texting back and what would have happened if she didn’t text back. It felt really fresh and original. I loved the ending, I 100% think she fell for the right guy and honestly I didn’t see it coming until the 65% mark. I just wish we had more time with Mr Endgame, I loved them so much I would’ve read a whole book about them!
This was my first read of Laura, but I will 100% be picking up her other works. I really enjoyed this one!
For lovers of:
- Dual Timelines
- Romcoms
- Second Chance Romance
- Age Gap (she’s 36 he’s 28)
- Found Family
Not interested in reading two versions of the life and then choosing one in the end
