ok so i really liked this one :’) it wasn’t perfect as some of the dialogue made me cringe a bit and, although i did love it and thought it was the perfect twist, i did start to predict the ending with about 150 pages to go. that being said, i did still really enjoy it - i thought the characterisation was great (like i don’t know how to put this eloquently but each character just made sense), loved the dual-timeline structure, and found that the writing style was really fluid and digestible. all in all a solid new romance rec :)
I absolutely adored this book! It was wonderful from start to finish, it was just a fantastic book!
I really enjoyed the different timelines of texting back/not texting back and I loved how everything came together in the end

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Lovestruck as it was my first experience of Laura Jane Williams but oh what a page turner! I’ve already purchased another of her books.
Should Becca text her ex back or should she not? The story takes you on a journey through the two possible outcomes to this scenario with the idea that both paths will still lead you exactly to where you’re meant to be as life has a funny way of working out.
I’ll be honest, it did take me until halfway through the book to realise each chapter worked in this way but I’m not sure if that can be blamed on the author or my tired mind!
By the end, I felt so invested in every single character as LJW made each of them feel so real. The way they interacted and the things they would say felt realistic and relatable.
I can Lovestruck being a huge hit when it’s released on 8th June. Thank you Penguin Random House and NetGalley for letting me experience my first ever ARC!

I typically love a book that plays with the idea of alternate timelines/realities, so was intrigued by this.
Becca is trying to manifest getting married, and when she soon after gets a text from her ex-bf, she tries to decide if she’s going to entertain a response. The story follows two timelines - one world where Becca does respond to Mike, and one where she doesn’t ever respond to him. The story plays on the idea of if you did one thing differently, how different would your life turn out?
Unfortunately, this one didn’t grab my attention, despite an interesting premise. I found the characters not fully developed, so I found it hard to care about them. Also, the book is in 3rd person, present tense, which isn’t my favourite, so this could have affected my experience, too. The ending felt rushed which left me feeling unsatisfied.
I would try out others by this author in the future, this one just didn’t do it for me and that’s okay!
This one is out June 8th - Thank you to NetGalley, Random House UK, Cornerstone and Penguin for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve recently left Birmingham and there’s nothing as cosy as reading a book set in the place that feels like home!
This is like a British Emily Henry, and I’m far more here for it!

I've read most books by Laura Jane Williams so this was straight on to my pre-order list! However, it wasn't my favourite that she has written. I just wasn't pulled in straight away and whether that was just how the book started, or me getting out of my reading funk, or a combination of both, I'm not sure.
It took me a while to catch on that there were two different timelines but it definitely drew me in!
All in all, it was a good read - I read it pretty quickly and stayed up to read it last night!

Sometimes, I was rooting for Noah, other times Mike, and other times I hated them both. But what I didn't see coming was the Carlos, Becca trope. I didn't pick up on that connection whatsoever and whether that was the author's intention or not, I'm not sure! Even when explained at the end, I still didn't really get it.All in all, it was a good read - I read it pretty quickly and stayed up to read it last night!
