This was a good, solid work- just enough mystery to keep you reading, and not really what you expect to find as you go. Excellent character work.

This was just okay, for me. Ultimately, it felt a just little clunky. The overall story was a good one, though the pace of the reveal was a tad too slow. I also liked that it was a multi-lingual story, and the ways in which that was depicted. The art was sometimes a little too cartoony, in ways that did not match the storyline. But the cartoonist drawing the story - the story we are now reading - was a little too much meta / self-insertion for me. That really detracted from the overall plot, for me.
Understated, sad, beautiful; a love song dedicated to that which might have been but never could be. Modan proves that sentimentality is an incredible force that can change lives, and clear the fog of history. This book is just so damned charming. The characters are living, breathing people, mature in their own way, even when clouded by self interest at times. I loved it.

Very interesting graphic novel on the complicated nature of survivor guilt and a modern reclamation of the horrors of the holocaust.
