Love the depiction of a character’s inner struggle with identity. An enjoyable audiobook to listen to!

I previewed this because I'm looking for a book that everyone in our family, including a teenaged boy who has very selective tastes, will enjoy listening to on our spring break trip and I think this one will be a hit!

I would have given this 4 stars, if it weren't for the length of time spent in the prison and the unclimatic reunion with the family.

Otherwise it had great action and good character development in both the good guys and the bad guys.

I have to say, this was a hard book to get through. But once I got through the heart wrenching part, it flew by.

This is about an inventor set sometime in the 1700s, I believe. I though that it was a unique way to have a character. That simple fact twisted the story into something mysterious and creative. I have to admit, though, that some scenes in the book reminded me of "Batman Begins."

It did drag on in the heart wrenching parts, which was difficult to finish.

The ending wasn't quite satisfactory, making me want a sequel. (It would work, too!!)

The book just didn't have a very good plot in my opinion.

Actually, I'd read this one before. Not sure how it didn't wind up in here. Still, not bad. The main character can be a bit of a... something... but I guess his experiences are to blame for that. Kind of magical (without any actual magic).
