As a lifelong Wonder Woman fan this book is amazing and I will forever love the way Diana is portrayed in it. At first I wasn't sure how well the story was going to develop since its her teenage years. But at the end she is wonderfully written. Diana is a young but judicious and compassionate girl that puts others' needs before anything else. She simply can't refuse to help those in need, and will fight until the very end to protect the weak.

This book goes back to Wonder Woman's origins (both literally and metaphorically): Gets rid of the sword, the raw violence and returns to her compassion and never ending love for every being that exists. It also brings back her clay origin (the best one in my opinion). The fact that the plot is entirely connected to Greek mythology makes it even better.

Beware, however. This book is not a traditional superhero story nor it aspires to be an imageless version of a comic book. It is mainly centered on the values that define Wonder Woman and her lore. The action sequences are limited. It is, nevertheless, a beautiful story that fans and non-fans alike can enjoy.

I loved this book, another one I couldn’t put down. Loved the characters, the female friendships are awesome. Even when the story slowed down I didn’t mind because it was for the sake of banter and character & friendship development. I don’t know much about Wonder Woman (only really the recent movie, which I really liked) but as far as I know, Leigh Bardugo knows her stuff and the book has inspired me to want to find out more. It is a really worthy superhero origin story, that’s for sure :)

All I can say is....I'm glad I read it.

OMG I adore this book. I wasn't eager to start reading this mostly because Wonder Woman wasn't my favorite DC character. But, I've completely changed my mind. This retelling is amazing!
Wonder Woman always struck me as the female version of Superman, all powerful and too perfect. But this deep dive into teenage Diana shows her as a vulnerable teenager who is insecure but has this incredible resilience. She has to fight against the stigma of not being a "true Amazon" and the

While I enjoyed the plot of this novel more than that of the movie, I still did not find the story particularly compelling (part of me wonders if I've become jaded towards Marvel & DC superheroes). My biggest complaint, however, was with the characters. I really enjoyed Diana's character but found the other characters lacking in depth and annoying.
