This was a really strong debut. It was smart, sweet, and well written. I really enjoyed Emmett's letters to his mom as sort of an insight in to his feelings. It also rang true to me having lost my Dad when I was young I've written him letters throughout many milestones that I wanted to tell him about in my own words. I wish Beth would have made a better decision but better late than never, and we all make mistakes. She had a rough few years, my heart went out to her. This was definitely an emotional journey and all involved deserved their hard earned HEA!
