This book had so many layers of feelings. I loved the sister relationship, it made me think of my own. The past love interest (ex) had layer upon layer of feelings to sift through, and I appreciated the authors ability to do that in a ‘short’ time. The new love interest (isn’t always who you think it will be). The found family. The renewal. The feels were plenty and I actually had tears well up, which doesn’t happen often.

Reminder to self: just because it’s a queer book doesn’t mean the characters will be less annoying than the FMC’s in hetero books.

This was excruciating. The main character is a caricature of a people pleaser. Completely over the top people pleasing instincts. With none of the actual resentment that people pleasers hold. All about trying to fix this part of herself but only talks about the ways she would have handled the situation differently than the person she’s observing. Like by sending flowers to someone over a teeny tiny perception of a misunderstanding. My eyes rolled all the way in the back of my head multiple times.

The weird “premonition” is sooooo heterosexist and all of her instincts are insufferably hetero, and it was very very unclear why Stevie even liked her. Stopped at 29%
