Simply didn’t seem to have enough going on for me. It reads like early Shakespeare working out the structure of a play, without consideration yet for constructing complex characters or wrangling with complex ideas. This might have been overlooked had the plot pleased me more. I was sometimes amused, but farce relies on situation and I did not find the situation particularly compelling or original.

The title of [b:The Comedy of Errors|82357|The Comedy of Errors|William Shakespeare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386921376l/82357._SY75_.jpg|525707] is one of the Shakespeare plays that has become a fairly common figure of speech. To me a comedy of errors is when there are so many mistakes piled onto each other that one just has to sit back and be amused by it. Usually a learning experience that you try not to repeat again but they are always memorable - like “remember the time that X happened?”

I enjoyed this play immensely. Humorous, witty, engaging, entertaining and a quick read. To me this is an excellent example of why [a:William Shakespeare|947|William Shakespeare|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1654446514p2/947.jpg] is so revered.

I think this is my favorite play by Shakespeare so far. There is no lack of wit in this play dealing with twins. Two sets of identical twins. This was a delightful comedy.
1-5-25 Read and listened to this play performed by the Marlowe Dramatic Society Professional Players presented by Argo Classics on Audible. Still resonates with me as a delightful play.
