It was such a mixed bag for me. Whilst I liked the main character and the storyline I felt at times it went into too much detail on things that didn’t matter. It went on and on!

Well this was definitely a bit of a challenge for me, 488 pages with the tiniest writing! It took me a week but I finally finished it. This was given to me by my mum as she read it on holiday, and really enjoyed it (she loves a crime/thriller). I have to admit, I didn’t enjoy it as much as she did, but it still kept me interested as there were a few twists and turns. It follows the classic storyline of most crime thrillers, a troubled detective in the hunt for a serial abductor and killer. There’s some pretty gruesome scenes, and some parts did actually leave me a little paranoid to walk home in the dark lol. All, of course, neatly tied up with a little bow at the end, much like these books always are. Some parts were a little repetitive, and I think it could have been a bit shorter as I started to drift away at points. I also found it slightly far fetched, but did think it would make a good movie because it would be a bit easier to follow on screen, as we’re introduced to quite a lot of characters! If you’re a fan of a detective/crime story, with a bit of gore chucked in this is a decent read. I think he’s got a fair few other books as well if you’re a lover of a series. 3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Enormt, enormt spännande. Det var nästan jobbigt att läsa ibland, så spännande var det! Det är explicit mycket våld och hemskheter så den som inte gillar det bör läsa något annat. Det känns som att Kepler balanserar på gränsen mellan skräck och deckare. Men om man som jag tycker att det kan vara fascinerande måste man läsa Spegelmannen!
Det enda negativa jag har att säga är att utredningsmetoderna känns nästan så otroliga att det ligger lite sci-fi över. Jag menar, det här med bortträngda minnen känns lite väl Margit Norell och Thomas Quick. Inte för att jag är någon expert och kan något om psykoanalys men bortträngda minnen är oerhört omdebatterat.
