This book left me so happy. I didn't care for the mother in law, but there always has to be someone you don't care for in the book. It was a fast read and although I don't think it was as much about the wonder boy...I still enjoyed the new characters and feeling like they were old friends. I wish people were like this.

A lovely, feel-good book. Not so keen on all the meat-eating, hunting references made by so-called animals lovers, but aside from that it is a charming story. A novel about nostalgia and hope.

This book was a warm hug. It was wonderful to return to Whistlestop and revisit some of my favorite characters. It was also interesting to see how Flag pulled these characters and stories into the present-day: the perfect mix of nostalgia and current issues.
