A cute follow-up to the Fried Green Tomatoes story.
Sort of a thin plot overall but enjoyable.
Also does not have any of the sketchy racial depictions in the first book so it is easier to recommend as a follow-up to the movie Fried Green Tomatoes which I feel is ultimately the superior version of that story.

I loved this book with my whole heart. A big thank you to Edelweiss for an advance copy. ❤️

4.75 out of 5: I did enjoy this more than the first one and the story telling. I did enjoy the confirmation and acceptance of Idgie and Ruth, but I wish we could have gotten a more romantic flashback of the two. I loved Buddy's life and his support of his daughter, also called Ruth. This book also reminds you life is short and to appreciate every moment. Also that it is never too late to find you dreams and passions in life.
I really enjoy Fannie Flagg's books. They are my guilty pleasures, their stories enjoyable and soothing in so many ways. In this book, we are taken back to the Whistle Stop, home of the many characters we first met in Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. The book jumps between the past and present and we find out what happened to some of the characters. A lovely read; 3.5 stars.

This book was more than I knew to ask for in a sequel to such a wonderful book. The nostalgia…and the smiles at the end.
