Easily the weakest of the Hannibal Lecter stories. It just wasn't interesting or fast paced enough to be engaging.
Hannibal Lecter is one of those villains that you don't want to know the origin story for - I don't want to try and feel empathy or understanding I just want to know him as a monster without cause. It makes the other books in the series more interesting.
Wouldn't read it again.

Again, a decent book but the way it was set up disappointed me a bit. I love the story behind it and how you can find out why Hannibal does what he does but in the end it fell short for me. Plus the same things bothered me from the book Hannibal bothered me here, such as the random tense changing and how there's just foreign language that I don't know in the middle of a page without any translation for me to go off of. This had a great idea to it but it majorly fell short in my eyes. I'm sure that it could have been done better going off of all the other books in the series.
