I loved the snarky moments between the love interest. And my GAWD, the spice was immaculate. The only reason I gave this book a 4.5 is because of the inner debate I was having with myself towards the end of the book. I couldn’t decide whether or not the main characters’ relationship centered entirely around sex. Like…at times, it felt like that was the ONLY way they resolved conflicts and could have meaningful conversations. The epilogue brought me around though…that was one hell of a happy ever after.

I enjoyed this book i loveddd August i think he was my favorite in the book the epilogue was cute  the ending was ok to i also again think that dramatic breakup not breakup at the ending was unnecessary but i did like the book i was happy to hear about Julian and Hallie in this book and the epilogue and see how there relationship from the last book progressed this book follows the main character’s August and Natalie getting into a marriage of convenience while not liking each other while secretly liking and being attracted to each other at the same time but not knowing how the other feels they pretend not to like each other and since i was talking about tropes ill say some of the other ones so yes marriage of convenience,
Enemies to lovers and Forced proximity this book has a happy ending with no cliffhangers no love triangle and no cheating and it’s spicy not extremely spicy but still spicy and the female main character Natalie is the sister of the male main character in the first book in this series Secretly yours i do recommend reading the books in the published order so Secretly yours and then Unfortunately yours overall i rated this book 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfortunately Yours is another sizzlingly sexy and utterly unputdownable romance from the Bestselling (and TikTok sensation) Tessa Bailey—that’s bursting with humour, emotion and one of Bailey’s best couple pairings to date!

Having fell in love with Tessa’s Bellinger Sisters series I jumped at the chance to be a part of Tandem’s readalong— especially after reading Secretly Yours and absolutely loving the snarky dialogue and sexual tension in Natalie and August’s first meeting.

Though of course for anyone new to Bailey’s books, the brilliance of her work is that each book can be read as a standalone (but you’ll definitely get more enjoyment if you’ve read book one.)

The chemistry between our snarky rivals turned newlyweds was incredible and really well developed, though there is a bit of miscommunication to keep them from getting too complacent too quickly.

The back and forth banter was utter PERFECTION and I loved the almost grumpy/sunshine dynamics we see in Natalie and August—not to mention the heart melting adoration I have for the loveably gruff August (who FALLS IN LOVE FIRST😍❤️) and his sassy fur baby Menace who reminded me soo much of my own cat, Amber.

I also loved the well paced build up of the plot and was on the edge of my seat waiting for the fiery sexual tension to come to a head. And it most definitely delivered on that front (which again should come as a surprise from an author literally dubbed the “Michelangelo of dirty talk”.)

But I must admit, what I loved the most (aside from the scorchingly swoon worthy romance) was the sheer amount of detail we see in the emotional development of our characters, which made them feel oh so real. I was also rather impressed with how well Bailey manages to explore themes such as PTSD, anxiety, grief and complex family relationships which I felt was handled sensitively (however, as always, I do suggest checking TWs beforehand.)

Overall, a fabulously spicy and utterly delightful contemporary romance that’s perfect for fans of the Marriage of Convenience, Rivals to Lovers or the He Falls First trope.

Also, huge thank you to tandem collective for including me on the read-along and Harper360UK for the proof.

I wanted to read this book because I love Tessa Bailey’s work – It Happened One Summer is still one of my favourite books that I think about almost daily. So, when Tessa announced the second book this series and that it was a enemies-to-lovers, marriage of convenience trope with a tall, dark and handsome love interest - I was like SIGN ME UP!

This book has two points of view. The first is Natalie Vos, who we met in the first book, she is Julian’s sister. She has lost her job and her fiancé in one fell swoop in New York, so she has returned home to lick her wounds. A few months later, she’s sufficiently drowned her sorrows in wine and she’s ready to get back on her feet. She just needs her trust fund to finance her new business venture. Unfortunately, the terms require she must be married before she even sees a penny of it. And well, she’s not looking to get married after what happened in New York. But Natalie is desperate enough to propose to the man who makes her want to kill him and kiss him, in equal measure. The second point of view is August Cates. He might own a vineyard, but he doesn’t know anything about making wine. He's determined to do his late best friend proud, no matter what it takes. Except his tasting room is empty, his wine is disgusting like people are gagging it’s that disgusting and his buddy’s legacy is circling the drain. No bank will give the loan he needs to turn the business around and then the gorgeous, feisty heiress knocks on his door. Natalie has haunted his dream since the moment they met, he can’t stop thinking about her especially considering how their date ended. The chemistry is sizzling which morphs into simmering insults. Now, a quick marriage could help them both. A fake wedding, a few weeks living under the same roof, and then they can go their separate ways, if they both make it out alive. How hard can it be? There’s just one thing they didn’t account for. Their unbearable and undeniable attraction.

THIS BOOK. THIS BOOK. This book is how you do the marriage of convenience trope. This book was so much better than the first book mainly because the MCs didn’t annoy the shit out of me. One character being like I've come from a broken home and I'm damaged and the other one being like I'll show you love and make sure you are comfortable around me just owns my freaking heart. I loved Natalie’s growth during this book, she started in a rough place and managed to know her worth and knew what she wanted in life. There was no third act break up, there is a bit of miscommunication but it’s very minor that it didn’t annoy me as much as other miscommunication books have. Natalie was so badass and I loved her and how she doesn’t let her family name be all she has, she wants to prove herself as being Natalie not just a Vos, and I liked that. August Cates – that man, he will never ever beat Brendan Taggert as he owes my heart, but he is a very close second and I would love a book where Piper, Brendan, Natalie and August go on a double date or a couples retreat or something. Anyway, back to August – my little damaged and grieving soul. He was so precious and overprotective but I loved it. He was like controlling overprotective, he was like you can do what you want but if anyone doesn’t let you do it or degrades you, I will end them sort of way. I wanted to hug August during the chapters where he was going through his grief and talking about Sam. I would have loved some prologue of how close Sam and August were, but you find out during the book but I would have loved a POV chapter from Sam or August when they were serving.

I always want to slowly read Tessa’s book, but it just never happens, I end up devouring it and then sitting there, wondering what book of hers I'm going to read next and when is her next release?
