I've read a couple Tessa Bailey books before, and this one did not disappoint!
Brendan and Piper were such a fun couple, and I loved their grumpy/sunshine relationship. I liked seeing Piper's journey from spoiled, entitled rich girl to a grounded, more well-rounded person. I enjoyed the slow burn build up of them getting together, and once they did get together, the steam train could not be stopped!
I also enjoyed the fisherman/life at sea POVs, and having those elements as a focus for the story definitely gave it a unique trajectory. Brendan was a good brooding character, and I liked getting pieces of his story along the way. It was nice to see him grow and learn to express himself, as well as rise above the expectations of his father-in-law and the town as a whole.
Piper and Hannah's relationship was so heartwarming and sweet! They were the epitome of an awesome sisterhood, and I absolutely loved seeing them grow closer together as they discovered more about their long-lost family in Westport.
One of my main beefs with all the TB books I've read so far is the overuse of pet names during romantic scenes. It seriously feels like every other word out of the guy's mouth is "baby", "sweetie", "honey", you name it, and it just really throws off the flow of the scene and, quite frankly, annoys me. But that quirk aside, I've still found her stories entertaining and enticing!
For fans of:
*Grumpy/sunshine
*Enemies to lovers
*Nautical adventures
*Open-door romance/steamy scenes
*Sister stories
*Riches to rags
