I thought it was good but not great. Probably wouldn’t read it again as the writing style made it hard to keep track of who was who and what was happening sometimes.

challenging dark mysterious slow-paced

Translated Spanish short story about a man who is murdered after supposedly taking another woman's virginity. Basically just recounts the events of that day but the plot didn't really progress and there were a lot of characters to keep track of. Just not enough plot for me!

The novella is very interesting and critical of machismo and marianismo in society and what defines honor. Unfortunately, the book is not very compelling, and the repetition of the day seems to defer the focus of the reader
