bana bu kitabı zorla okutturan edebiyat hocalarıma çok teşekkür ediyorum ÇOK GÜZELDİ.
This book was so different than what I'm used to reading, but in a good way. I think I expected a certain ending, but it made so much sense when that ending didn't come true. A lot of heavy issues are also addressed in this novel especially the role that men and women play in society. I think that this was more about understanding how a society was supposed to be blamed for the death of an individual rather than just the two people who committed the actual murder. I really liked it and could appreciate what the author was attempting to do even if I had to go back and read several different passages. I will be doing a full review soon as this is a part of my Around the World reading challenge.
If you're looking for an enjoyable short book to fill in between longer reads, this is a nice one to pick up. In typical Senor Marquez style it is a light hearted book about a serious subject. A weathly young man is murdered in front of the entire town who knew it was going to happen. Why did no one stop the killing? A comedy of errors.
Too many details and I don’t like the fate of the main female character, a romanticised obedient heroine without agency.

I was intrigued by this book, so I picked it up to give it a go. It's an interesting book, but I kept getting the feeling that I would appreciate it more if I was part of the original target audience. I could tell there was social commentary happening, and I could pick up on some of it, but I know a lot went over my head. The characters were very nuanced, and the actual plot was interesting. It just sort of missed for me.

read this book again after two years and it’s still as interesting to me as it was in school. every time i read it i find something new in it
this book is more of a 4-4.5 but i gave it 5 cause i have such an attachment to this book; probably because it was one of the first books that made me get into literary analysis

This is a novella more than a novel; still very enjoyable both in its writing, and what it leaves out.
"The cocks of dawn would catch us trying to give order to the chain of many chance events that had made absurdity possible, and it was obvious that we weren’t doing it from an urge to clear up mysteries but because none of us could go on living without an exact knowledge of the place and the mission assigned to us by fate."
