Seriously, though... Love triangles aren't my favorite, and this reminded me why. It was done so poorly. Book 1 and 2 clearly set up Grim as end game, so, why are we going back and forth. It makes me dislike Isla, because why are you dragging Oro along like this? Let my man be happy! I would say about 70% of this book was Isla and Grim working on their relationship, then you randomly throw in old chemistry between Isla and Oro.. For what? Why is Isla having wet dreams about Oro, then waking up, from said dream, and fucking Grim in every inch of the castle?! The chemistry between Isla and Oro was built up really well in the first two books, only for Alex Aster to diminish it by basically insinuating that Oro is a rebound. It would've been fine if there wasn't so many Grim flags in the first two books, and the author wasn't aiming for a love triangle trope. Oro felt like a crutch for Isla at this point. HE DESERVED BETTER! I especially hate how they both got compared to one another, after 2 whole books of Isla claiming that they're different. Ugh. Like I said, poorly written and so drawn out. A love triangle, when done correctly, will have me yearning for the both of them. I would say, why choose? But, at this point, Isla needs to stay single. Oro, and Grim I guess, deserve better.

Also, the whole self pity act with Isla is becoming redundant.

Annoying because she could've been such a badass FMC, especially with what we've learned about her in this book. Her entire personality just ruins it. I only feel like this about her in this book. In the first two, she wasn't this bad, and I was able to look past it. But now, we should have a good understanding of everyone's personalities, and everyone seemed to evolve at some point, except Isla. Such a crazy decline, too. With everything going on, you'd think she'd become more mature. Lame.
This book felt like just a dump of information with no explanation. You would get loads of information throw at you in lightning speed, then a romance scene comes, and it's slowed down to a snail's pace. Talk about whiplash. I'm confused. This would've been 100 times better if it was done in multiple POV, in my opinion.
Also, Alex Aster should've just stuck with this being a trilogy, because, at this point, everything is drawn out. She could've wrapped it up in this one, if she didn't add 1000 new subplots with no meaning, whatsoever. I wish so badly that this was the last book... If written correctly, this would've been a bad-ass conclusion to the trilogy. Everything that needed to be done was very clear at the end of book two, so, why is the author taking me on the slowest possible route to get to my destination?
All in all, it's a fun, action packed book that definitely has you turning pages. If you take it for what it is, it's a very enjoyable and entertaining read.
