I marked this as challenging because it was challenging to get myself to finish it.

Chat, what the hell.

Deaths Obsession? More like my oppression. God. This was not good, it doesn't even deserve me thinking about something more witty to say.

Everyone in this book is annoying.

And it's like... Maybe she is just hallucinating this whole thing because of all her trauma. Maybe that is what the author is getting at? But something makes me feel like it isn't which makes it like????? Eeeeek (not in a good way).

But anyway, what do I know.

Also night monster is so ew.

I dropped it at page 120. There was no real plot, the characters were dull, and the supposed spicy scenes fell flat with no tension. Reading it was a struggle and honestly, a waste of time.

*Spoiler of ending contained* Trying to blow through some shorter stories to catch up on my reading goal & Iโ€™ve been on a dark romance kick, specifically the Death/Lilith dynamic but this wasnโ€™t quite what I was hoping for. I liked the characters and their dynamic but the storyline wasnโ€™t super compelling. There were also several noticeable tense inconsistencies which is very distracting for me as a reader. Also **Spoiler** I thought it was kinda messed up he made her go to where the accident that killed her sister happened to finally meet up?? Symbolically I understand but damn dude. Overall not bad, easy quick read

'To the girls who think that the grim reaper will fuck like a god'

Yes, I too will take the grim reaper, and his shadow any day, and his money, and his other gifts as well.

But oh my goodness there's just too much of a slow burn to the point it's a chore that I'm rolling my eyes, too much traipsing around (like 70% of the book), and the ending is a big 'what the fuck? That's it? What's that supposed to mean?'

But did I enjoy reading about a hot grim reaper stalking and being possessive?
Hmm maybe yes.

Death has been watching over her.
She has no recollection of them ever meeting and is pushed to think she is crazy, having to take medication from her psychiatrist after the accident that changed her life forever. He leaves notes and gifts for her, always there for her so sheโ€™s never truly alone. The grief, spice, and romance was good but I feel like I couldโ€™ve been executed a bit better. The ending twist has me hooked, overall an enjoyable read!
