Death's Obsession

Avina St. Graves

3.35 AVERAGE

Quite a nice pallet cleanser. Good chemistry and first and foremost a story about grief, personal empowerment and moving on in spite of and from past trauma. Liked it.

Death’s Obession is worth all the hype. Plus more.

Lillith barely survived an accident in which death refused to take her soul. Now alive but not living, Death is stalking, and at the same time, she thinks she is losing it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Death's Obsession, a unique and gripping tale revolving around Death and Lilith. The beauty in darkness was something I found fascinating and captivating.

I knew I was in for a wild and spicy ride with the dedication alone. This is a must-read book.

Started off exciting with a good dose of spice, but the story lacked a solid plot. As I continued reading, the initial excitement waned, and by the end, I found myself disinterested and without any lasting connection to the story. The lack of depth left the overall experience less satisfying than I had hoped for. There were some good moments ofcourse but overall, it didn't quite resonate with my personal taste.

I so wanted to adore this book, Im afraid the only reason I enjoyed this book was Letum (death)… it was just too short to really have an impact on me, I enjoyed the concept and with more to it I think it their love story and Liliths journey of healing after such major deaths, and the failure of her once great relationship could of been explored better… with such heavy topics it could of been great but fell flat for me. The conclusion of the story…I wouldn’t even call it that it was pretty much the end of the book being ripped out, honestly was such a big fat disappointment… what happened?? No explanation at all? she becomes death too? Letum was beautiful, his words were poetic and meaningful majority of the time, he was sweet and caring, recognized when she needed to be alone in order to grow to become a better version of herself even though it pained him, that was admirable, he wasn’t over the top in gifting her things, always what she needed when she needed for once I’m glad the fmc wasn’t just showered over the top with everything her heart desired to fill that void. The letters, the stuffed animal of her puppy was precious. I empathized with Lilith her experience and journey throughout the aftermath of the traumatic events that took her family but she just wasn’t a strong fmc I couldn’t relate to her in anyway she just seemed bland in all honesty. The spice was okay I think I would of enjoyed more tension and intimacy. It’s such a short read, would I go out of my way to recommend it not quite, would I say it’s worth a try to get you out of a slump… possibly. Overall I’d rate it lower then 3/5 but Letum is why I will stick to that rating.

Oh I liked this one. It's a short novella but it does pack a punch. The spice is... hot. Is it the spiciest, no but still very nice spice!

I love Lilith and Lethum. And, I'll be honest, I really really like that it's a Grim Reaper thing cause I'm the sort of girl who would fall in lust with him. (I may a bit weird or need therapy... or both.)

I really enjoyed this one!
