I cannot stand spicy books that have absolutely no depth to them.
I could tell the author truly was trying to grasp at strings to piece stuff together and create a sentimental storyline, but it just was not working..
I wish we got more insight into her background and more of the deep thoughts and feelings of her finding out about ‘death’ it felt even more unauthentic when she just pretty much gave in and fell for him and everything he wants to give her.
It just wasn’t meant for me unfourtuently.

I marked this as challenging because it was challenging to get myself to finish it.
Chat, what the hell.

Deaths Obsession? More like my oppression. God. This was not good, it doesn't even deserve me thinking about something more witty to say.
Everyone in this book is annoying.
And it's like... Maybe she is just hallucinating this whole thing because of all her trauma. Maybe that is what the author is getting at? But something makes me feel like it isn't which makes it like????? Eeeeek (not in a good way).
But anyway, what do I know.
Also night monster is so ew.

I dropped it at page 120. There was no real plot, the characters were dull, and the supposed spicy scenes fell flat with no tension. Reading it was a struggle and honestly, a waste of time.

*Spoiler of ending contained* Trying to blow through some shorter stories to catch up on my reading goal & I’ve been on a dark romance kick, specifically the Death/Lilith dynamic but this wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. I liked the characters and their dynamic but the storyline wasn’t super compelling. There were also several noticeable tense inconsistencies which is very distracting for me as a reader. Also **Spoiler** I thought it was kinda messed up he made her go to where the accident that killed her sister happened to finally meet up?? Symbolically I understand but damn dude. Overall not bad, easy quick read
Quick Blurb
Lilith is haunted by the deaths of her loved ones and has been visited by a shadow intent on reminding her of its existence in the forms of strange gifts that seem to both scare and comfort her, Lilith is sure that her mind is slowly slipping from reality believing the strange occurrences are simply her own doing concocting a semblance of torture she feels she deserves to endure but when death is your admirer is there truly any escape?

What I liked
The concept is interesting and seems like something that could be further used as a metaphor or analogy when done right I have read something more lengthy on Wattpad of all places I forgot the authors exact name but the book series is called “My best friend is death” by katrocks or something along those lines, the slow burn really burnt in that series compared to this one where everything was moving along to a steady pace, I liked that about this a bit more because the concept was there to simply indulge in with the erotic aspect. There were interesting points of the story that could have developed more into something with more substance when it came to the MMC’s personality and character I felt like Letum was a very domineering presence, but it was hard to see him in a light where he was more than just ‘death’.
What I did not like
There was a lot to not like but it may have been my own fault with going in with high hopes, the story was promising but this felt like a weird cross between the depiction of survivors guilt and Stockholm syndrome, while I understand this was a dark romance I feel the one problem this genre has is the consent issues there is always some sort of vital lack of communication between the leads when it comes to intimacy in some sort of way and though I fully understand the CNC kinks, it feels icky when it is never addressed and simply seen as normal I have only seen one or two DR books address the issue and lay out rules for this sort of bdsm play. Letum is completely one dimensional his dirty talk is about the only thing I can say he succeeds in, he’s a very generic male lead when it comes to how he treats the female lead who also is just a head case at this point because I feel like she has severe depression issues that she rushes through in the intervals where Letum lets her heal [that took me by surprise as well].
The novel was just not my speed, and I honestly should have finished this faster than the time it took me to actually complete.
Overall Opinions
For those who just wondered if having death stalk, you would be more entertaining than the endless run towards him.
