Death's obsession was an interesting read and I would recommend it to those who enjoy dark and smutty romance novels (⚠️ make sure you're okay with the trigger warning before jumping in). I'm not really a fan of dark romance but this read was a fun experiment.

The premise of the story reminds me very loosely of the Invisible life of Addie Larue but without the fleshed out characters and backstory that I enjoyed from Schwab's novel.

The story would benefit from Lilith having flashbacks or vividly remembering details from her past instead of briefly mentioning them. Personally, this has been a main qualm of mine while reading Avina's novels (others published under different names). The author definitely has the writing capabilities to create more in-depth characters, which have been shown with some of the descriptive and poetic conversations between Lilith and Letum/Death. I hope to see that potential in upcoming novels as each novel has been better than the previous.

I enjoyed the journey that Lilith had with her grief but the pacing felt a bit slow in the beginning and too rushed towards the end. The journey of self discovery felt too quick and linear considering the depth of the trauma Lilith faced. However, the ending was pleasant as it leaves a lot to the imagination.

Very simply written book that reads rather fast. The plot was kind of shallow and the characters could have had more personality. It was a very detailed open door romance which is not really my thing. Aside from all, the ending was beautiful to me.

I blew through this one! It's a really nice, concise story told beautifully. In such a short book, I felt so many emotions and I think that's what really pulled me in. Of course, the spice was also excellent. Overall a really enjoyable read!
