I struggled to like this book. All three of the main characters have flaws which is the point I guess but their flaws are irritating. Hannah is self-righteous, Lissa has tunnel vision, Cate is careless and selfish. All these are perfectly acceptable flaws but I don't feel like the reasons they state are very relatable or delved in to particularly well. They all feel like quite flat characters. I will give the author credit that although I didn't find two of her characters relatable I was hooked by one of the stories which meant that I wanted to keep reading. Nothing much happened but the pacing was okay.

3.75 stars - an easy to read and get stuck in novel about female friendship. I’m not quite in that place in life to relate to fertility struggles, affairs and post-baby crises but nonetheless all the characters and their story arcs felt very real and had those “I can recognise this struggle” moments.
Didn’t gel with the non-linear timeline but that’s just a personal preference.

I found this to be a very insightful and emotional book about how growing up and moving on can impact female friendships, create tension and even stir up jealousy. However I think the storytelling overly idealised and romanticised the characters’ “carefree, stress-free” 20s whilst only focusing on the disappointments of their 30s, which made the story less honest and realistic for me.
