I enjoyed reading Kane and Kayla's story. I feel like Carly Phillips put a unique spin on their storyline and gave them a story that hasn't been done a million times. I like how Kane took it upon himself to protect Kayla when danger kept popping up, despite why he was really around her. This story was wonderfully paced and I really enjoyed it.

Going undercover brings a whole new meaning to Detective Kane McDermott, when he needs to figure out if the beautiful Kayla Luck is actually running a brothel out of her family's escort business. When sparks fly and danger exists, Kane and Kayla come together in more way than one. But can you trust someone who lied to you in the first place? Can Kane realize that the danger she is in is because she really does not know the secrets her family was trying to hide? From the opening pages this was a fast paced and swoon worthy read. I just fell in love with Kane and adding Kayla into the mix just made him even better.

I didn't expect to like this. I picked it up at lunch when I forgot my book at home and I literaly just grabbed a random book from a pile and the cover didn't discourage me so I took it to lunch. I remember thinking - Hu. This is pretty good! I read it in 24 hours and then looked for more from this author.

This is a Re-release of the series. We follow the sisters through their search for the one who understands and gets them for them. The Luck sisters are unlucky in love and have only had reach other to depend on. Kayla Luck had more than just trust issues, stemming from childhood bullying and a warped sense of her value she is finally overcoming her issues when tragedy strikes.
Kane McDermott is a by the book Detective playing a role undercover. He never expects the suspect to get under his skin. But Kayla has an innocence about her that proves there is more to this case than he expects. As things heat up, the attraction is too much to fight. And all those protective instincts put Kane at odds with his belief system. Can two damaged people help each other be the best version of themselves?

Simply Sinful the first in Ms Phillips reissued Simply Series was an enjoyable read. That nicely mixed mystery and romance to great effect and had likable characters. And I was wholly engaged throughout.

Would recommend.

OK, this was fun but super cheesy. The writing was clunky and the characters were hard to believe.
