A LOVELY collection of novellas from Agatha Christie. While these don’t do anything jaw-dropping and crazy, they’re simply pleasant and enjoyable reads. I usually would give four stars, but there was something about them that I just couldn’t put down. Gives it an extra 1/2 that I’ll round up. Clever and fun, exactly what you’d want.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the stories except Triangle at Rhodes, but that one was pretty short at least.

I sorely needed some Poirot as a palate cleanser after my last book (We Have Always Lived In the Castle). While I prefer the full-length novels, I enjoyed the four stories in this book. Poirot is my comfort-read, at this point, which is due to two factors. The first is obviously Poirot himself, who is such an immensely likeable character: obviously highly intelligent, but also compassionate, and possessed by an overwhelming sense of justice. The other, which follows from this first, is that there will always be a resolution to the case - even if sometimes, the right thing is to let a perpetrator go. At all times, order is restored, justice is served.
Wow, that was a tangent. Anyway. Four cases are presented here, where the first is probably the most convoluted. I congratulated myself for being right about the second one. I was not even a little bit correct in the third or fourth case.
I feel much restored. Thank you, Hercule.

Nearly forgot how fun and philosophical a murder mystery could get. This was a good reminder 🙂↕️
Pretty good, the last one was giving "Evil under the sun"
