Another winner from Katherine Center - Katie is a videographer who gets a job making a promo video for the Coast Guard. It's a more complicated job than she anticipates, as is her subject, Hutch.
One of the best parts of the book is an enthusiastic Great Dane named George Bailey. He's fantastic.
I enjoy Katherine Center's flawed and lovely characters. Though I've never had any desire whatsoever to go to Florida, this made me *almost* want to visit the Keys. Almost. Not quite.
And Katie's journey towards self-acceptance? Very powerful.
I will continue to seek out Katherine Center books when I'm in the mood for a romance. (No spice, btw)

I absolutely loved this book! Of course, I always love the love story Katherine Center puts together. The ups and downs of the romance between the two individuals are always spot on and keep you wanting to read more. I love both Katie and Hutch and their story in “The Love Haters”. But, this book truly made me think through another love that so many of us ignore or hide in the closet of our lives. The love of ourselves. This book helped me to see that I should “Love everything about myself” as Beanie shares in the book. Thank you, Katherine Center, for bringing that love story to the surface for all of us who struggle with loving ourselves. You helped to open our eyes to see that all of who we are is lovable. The scars, the soft squishy extra round places, and the unique marks on our bodies are all part of our story of life. They are all lovable pieces of what makes us who we are now and help us determine where we are going. Thank you, Katherine Center. Keep the stories coming!!

Katherine Center has done it again. I laughed, I cried. It was tough to read Katie's negative self-perception and the bullying she received, but her journey to self-appreciation was gorgeous and so relatable. Hutch was perhaps too perfect—and Cole a bit too villainous —but it all worked, and The Gals were a particular bright spot. Loved loved loved The Love Haters.
Graphic: Grief, Death of parent
