The Bookshop Sisterhood definitely went differently than I thought it would. I thought I was picking up a cozy, relaxing, not super high stakes read but we shouldn't judge a book but it's cover right? I'll answer that, right! This book was drama filled with each page adding onto the pile.

I enjoyed The Bookshop Sisterhood, I enjoyed the characters and their development. I also enjoyed the drama and how the ladies leaned on each other throughout the book, they truly felt like a sisterhood for the majority of the book. There was so much that went on from January to May in these poor characters lives like they are probably just ready to throw in the towel and call up the new year.

I do wish that the book was less about the issues that all of the ladies were facing over the course of a few months and focused more on their dreams of opening the bookshop. In the books defense I did go into this book without having read the blurb, as I so often and prefer to do. But after reading the blurb at the end I still stick with my same wishes.

Overall, I enjoyed The Bookshop Sisterhood but if you're looking for a cozy book about some ladies opening a bookshop, this is not it. If you're looking for a sister-like, drama filled book with a side of bookshop, you'll probably enjoy this read.

If you expect to just read a book about 4 girls starting a book store, this is not that, each girl has their own individual lives, which comes with a lot of drama, I loved it! lol! I’ve seen people leave negative reviews saying the girls were catty and their wasn’t true friendship, but I thought the friendships were beautiful, as far as I can tell none of these girls had a sister. They were each others sisters. If you grew up with sisters you know how it is being at their throat one second, but ready to go to war for them the next. Some of the drama may have been “over the top” but isn’t that what keeps you turning the page? Overall a good read!
