This was an enjoyable and yet again easy romance read. There were multiple tropes scattered throughout the novel like brothers best friend, childhood friend, actor and author, etc etc. This was all fine, I thought the actor and author thing was cute. I don’t have a lot to say about this because it wasn’t all that amazing but it was still an easy read. However I didn’t like
the scene where Olive is obviously extremely drunk and is forcing herself onto Jason and then he goes ahead and does shit to her even when she’s not in a place to give consent? And then they never brought it up again? She clearly was too drunk to even remember, that was so off to me.
The Lily/Charlotte situation was a bit out of nowhere and there wasn’t enough build up for them to literally  spike him! It was a bit irrelevant and I didn’t like the complication as a whole. Should’ve been more messy but should’ve made sense at the same time.

Those are the only complaints I have but otherwise it was pretty good.

the overall story felt like a wattpad book ngl. i know i will have forgotten everything about it by tomorrow.

there's  a bunch of things i hated, like Lucy literally suggesting groping men without their consent, Jason fingering Olive when she was drunk and almost asleep (that's literally rape?? +she never remembered it so it wasn't even acknowledged, also i don't remember correctly but i'm pretty sure she also forced herself on him another time) and how brushed off was the issue of Jason getting drugged at a party. I would've liked it was treated as what it was: sexual assault.

EDIT: 1 star because it’s months later and I can’t get over the r@pe I still think about it and get grossed out.

2,5 I was liking this in the beginning but then it just got creepy and gross and yeah they were very small parts of the book but they were enough to leave a bad taste. I’d give this a 2 but it really was alright in the beginning.

This book was really fun and I really did like it but there are some TWs and there are a few scenes I think people overlook.

It really is a shame because this book was really enjoyable before the problems show up. If you don't mind for spoilers, then please check out the problems.

As for their relationship, there's a power imbalance here. Jason is not only the richer, more popular, and the lead of her movie, he's also been the person Olive has been in love with for a very long time. Throughout the book though you can see that he does truly care for her, but do be warned, the transition from bestfriend's little sister to lover is a bit fast.

Here are some problems I had:

-Olive placing a condom on Jason while he's sleeping because she's having trouble believing last night actually happened? I get that she's having trouble believing it, but that doesn't excuse what she did at ALL. Some people tend to just brush this scene off but it doesn't sit right with me.

-When a fan is found in the closet and tries to tazer Olive, I feel like it wasn't as developed as it could have, like we didn't get to see how it affected Olive in the future as someone who wasn't used to that life.

-When Lilly (or whatever her name is) slipped a drug in Jason's drink. It wasn't expanded and I feel like it was only there solely for the plot, the same can be said for the former problem.
