My trip down memory lane is now approaching a year and my enthusiasm has not depleted.

Last Stand of Dead Men wrecked me as a child, shocked me into asking 'can they do that? is that allowed?'. This book taught me no one was safe even in the playpen of middle grade fiction. People who know know. Props to Derek Landy for infusing his baby grimdark series with wartime stakes and mercilessly mowing down everyone and everything I love, but also knowing when to have moments of levity. I did kind of forget that half of this book is Valkyrie hanging out with a bunch of 200 year old war vets, but I love the Dead Men so much. This book is the cliffhanger second-to-last season where everything that needs to go wrong, does go wrong, and we're gearing up for one last hoorah (ignoring the sequels books I will not read). I'm so ready.

Make an animated series already you cowards.
