Warning: This book presents "portraits of the first post-feminist generation".

I found most, if not all, of the characters highly irritating because they seemed very self-important and unaware of circumstances.

It sounds like an important book, but I would like to say that it is related to an important discussion, but the book in and of itself may not be the most important or enjoyable thing to read. I was not pulled in by any of the stories, nor could I relate to any of the characters (male or female). And the stories in and off themselves don't prompt much reflection. And while the short stories did make me think about whether the same could be said about females of the new feminist age. And whether feminism really challenges the norms in its entirety, or has so far just worked to flip the script. I found that it was more of my own prompting than the stories, considering that feminism is something I briefly studied and am still constantly reading about.

Does that make sense?

Perhaps the short stories would have worked better if the main characters' thoughts were highlighted a little more. For example, them going "ain't that right?" or "who has time for this huh?" would have served as triggers better than the entire story being so descriptive.

We got an email from uni that we had to urgently return all the books we had out. It turned out from the follow up emails that it wasn't that urgent, but I returned all my books at haste.
