A pretty darn good start to that new-ish Star Wars + Disney canon thing. Ironically, I was bored by some of the more action-oriented parts, but I really enjoyed when things slowed down and were a bit more introspective. In particular, I enjoyed the relationship that many of the characters developed for their world and its moon. Is it unfair to suss out some subtextual pro-environmental commentary in a story like this?
That being said, the villain is a bit too mustache-twirly and paper thin for my taste, but hey. It's Disney. And overall, the story is a fun exploration into a galaxy that I love, cliches and all.
