Chase and Piper.
Ok…what? A cliffhanger? Ahhhh!
Chase and his sister, Alex, are attending their father’s funeral. Mostly by obligation, as he was a worthless dad. For whatever reason, the lawyer wants to see them but they haven’t seen or spoken to him…well…pretty much ever, so what could the lawyer possibly want? That’s when they get the shock of their lives..for many reasons.
Piper has worked for the father, Aaron, for many years. She was his assistant however was recently fired. He was not a good man and Piper had to tolerate a lot, but what she wouldn’t tolerate was his touchy hands. Of course he lied to make himself look good but whatever. The timing could not be worse for being out of a job. Piper doesn’t know what she is going to do especially with her own surprise lurking.
Well, I can’t comment too much more because I don’t want to spoil anything. This was a very good read but there are a lot of things not settled yet so hopefully we don’t have to wait forever until the next book. So far, so good.

I’ve had this book for a very long time, but always felt it really wasn’t my kind of book. And I still agree with that sentiment, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t blown away by this beautifully written story about two siblings who inherit their father’s hotel empire. But there is a catch. They must find their half sibling before time runs out and the board finds out, taking control away from Chase and Alex. So they rehire the one person who knows more than anyone. Their dad’s last assistant, Piper, who the late Mr. Stone had fired after she rebuffed his advances. Between the three of them they start to unearth information on their lost sibling, all while sparks start to fly and build between Piper and Chase. But Piper has a secret of her own, which keeps her from getting too close to her new boss. Between her budding friendships with the Stone siblings, and being rehired at her old job, how long can she keep her secret safe?
