Amazing book. While it can be daunting to try to take all of the advice, I think Dr Becky is really onto something with her core messages about repair and connection. If you’re a parent, or a prospective parent, I think it’s a must-read!
informative

I generally like Dr. Becky and listen to her podcast, but in this longer format, sometimes her voice and especially her voice while imitating children felt a bit distracting, and frankly annoying, to me. Also, a lot of the information is similar to her podcast. All that said, I do love her approach to most parenting dilemmas and her constant reminder to lead with connection and empathy.

I really like Dr Becky and her parenting philosophies. They align with Dr Laura Markham who really helped me navigate sibling rivalry. This audiobook is read by the author, and I love the concrete examples and scripts she offers for parents to use both for mental thoughts and with children. A lot of info to digest and practice.

Wonderfully insightful. Plan to reference in future. Learning and growing is tough for kids and parents. And 2 things exist at once: we’re good inside and i handed something differently that we (kid struggling and parent supporting) wanted to.

Probably my favorite parenting book to date. Will read again in a few years.

I resonate with the overall ethos of this book, and some of the tips and ideas have worked well for us. Like all parenting books, this gets bogged by its "this is the right way" conviction and the assumption of what kids hear or understand based on parents' actions; I really think it's impossible to know.

I got a lot out of this parenting book. Dr. Becky offers good insight into child psychology and motivations. She gives plenty of practical hypotheticals with the scripts and tools to actually help parents.
