Might reread when I actually have a will to live.
Liked some parts, others felt like you should keep them to yourself kinda thoughts.
I also liked the Quran reading book club.

If you grew up with in strongly religious household as a queer person, read this book!

I found this memoir touching and resonant. I am not Muslim, but certainly I could relate culturally as a South Asian queer non-binary person. I really loved Lamya's interpretations of the Quran, how she related these prophets' stories to her own life's story. How these stories helped her to find strength, perseverance and courage at different times in her life. How much her convictions of justice come from her faith and analysis. Her writing style was also easy to read and follow along with. Recommend!
