Really so impactful! I loved the way Lamya told their stories through the stories of the prophet and gave a voice to female religious figures that are so often not talked about. The way she writes is so beautiful!

A stunningly brilliant memoir written by a queer, Muslim, nonbinary immigrant. I loved how Lamya centered their story around the Quran, intertwining passages with her life. Reading this was so beautifully real and authentic.

A really beautiful reflection on holding religion and queer identity together and both close to heart. It’s no feat of prose but Lamya writes in a relatable way for those with similar identities and a clear, understandable way for people who may just be looking to hear a new perspective.
It’s ultimately a book of radical hope that still stays grounded.

Really thoughtful and reflective memoir of a queer Muslim. Lots to think about. I loved how it was all centred around the prophets and so deeply entrenched in religion.
