What a read! I felt so connected to Lamya’s experience and so many parts made me think about myself, my identity, and how I consolidate it, too. Especially in the Jinn and Younus chapters.

I’ve learned a lot about the Quran, Islam, and all the intersections in the Muslim world both in this book and in researching on my own so I could understand it better. I thoroughly enjoyed Lamya’s retellings of the Quran and how she connects it to her life, finds comfort, and answers.

Much love to Lamya’s chosen family and how pivotal they were to her journey, too.
