4.5 stars - I thought it was a beautifully written book and I loved hearing a queer perspective toward Islam. I feel like I learned so much from this book and connected so much to Lamya, even though from the outside we would seemingly have not much in common. I think anyone would enjoy this read!!

I felt Lamya’s struggles in my bones- beautifully written with stories from the Quran throughout. I enjoyed every moment. The storytelling built well throughout and each part brought me closer to a vulnerable and relatable narrator. The descriptions and build of tension were so palpable and brought me back to memories of my own childhood.
