After reading Klunes first novel this one was quite predictable. I loved the first one and Wallace Price did not dissappoint in setting, characters and general ambiance of the story. I did however think that the story was not as thought out as in Klunes first novel and I think some aspects of the plot resolved itself too quickly and just when it was convenient for the main characters.

I personally have not yet met death in a very personal way but I like the world Klune shows in his book. Obviously I can only talk from my point of view, I don't know how people who have experianced the death of a important person in their life feel about the portrail of death.

Second read: I reread this book and it filled me with so much joy and love again.
After reading TJ Klunes series the Extraordinaries I can't let go of the idea that Nick and Seth wrote this story together as a tea shop AU fanfic 😅 Which only made me love it even more🥰💜

First read: I just finished this book and I am devastated. I don't want to leave these characters.
This book has kept my attention in a tight grip and I've been loosing sleep and skipping movie night with my partner to keep listening to it.

I recommend this book to everyone who have lost someone. This book made me cry several times but also gave me hope. I wish my father met a ferry person as wonderful as Hugo when he passed two years ago.

Absolutely loved this one. Would compare the vibes to The Good Place. A very bad person has to die to learn to become a good person.

Found family is a major draw here as well as the semi-philosophical musing on life and death. Very cozy tea shop vibes seal the deal. Recommended to fans of cozy magical realism, queer found family families, and characters learning what it means to be human.
