This book reads like Greek god fan fiction written by a 13 year old girl. So bad. Had to skim read the entire thing just to survive the experience.

Listen, this book was wild. Was it repetitive, extremely. But was it hella entertaining? Absolutely.
*Spoilers*
Our girl Alexis lives in a box with her foster brother, Charlie. One day she finds out she's a Spartan and is immediately thrown into this fight to the death battle. This confused the crap out of me. They keep repeating how they have a population issue, but they continually kill off their children right before they become immortal? Wild!
Anyways. Alexis survives and is placed with her mentors, Patro and Achilles. Achilles is muzzled because his power is too great. But luckily Alexis speaks sign language and can understand him. But she never tells anyone else that she can. They really don't like her in the beginning. They think she is a useless stupid Mutt. She then enters the "school". Which is basically non-stop torture. I think they're suppose to be learning something but how I have no idea. They don't sleep. They don't eat. They just class 24 hours a day. How the professors keep up is mind boggling. It's here she meets one of her professors Augusts and the scary Kharon. These two mother fuckers trick Alexis into accepting a bethrothal bond. I don't know why no one bothers to explain anything to her. Everyone is aware she grew up in the human world, yet no one is willing to take a second explain this one to her?
Also, multiple comments are made about her growing up pampered in the human world. Do these people ever leave their entitled lives and look around? The human world is crap. I don't know how anyone think otherwise.
Time passes. I think Patro and Achilles apparently start having feelings for her? They never really show it though. She lives in their home during her school breaks and they just let her sit in her room alone and stew.
Anywho. Somehow Alexis passes all the tests. She finds out she's one of the "bad" Spartans and realizes she's accidentally killed a bunch of people. She finds out her birth parents are Persephone and Hades. She is forced into marriage with Augustus & Kharon. I didn't hate them until they sexually assaulted her as she was saying no. That was pretty fucked up. Now I really really hate them. Patro and Achilles are mad she married them and are planning a way to make her there's? No one has even talked to this girl. Gotten to really know her. Yet they all want her. Wild.
It ends with Charlie staying with Hades and Persephone. Alexis is entering another deadly competition to become a Titan hunter.
I think the best thing about this book is it doesn't take itself too seriously. I though Alexis/Hercules was freaking funny. She is always wanting to kill herself and has the most sarcastic sense of humor. Oh and she has a random pet snake. Who was a really big character in the first half of the book, then sleeps the entire 2nd half. This book was fun and easy to read and I sped through it. Over all I had a good time.

I chose to listen to Blood of Hercules on audio because someone told me the audio book was better. While I can not say which of the two is better than the other, I can say the audio book was fantastic! The narration was great with more than one narrator, and the performance was top-notch.
As far as the story content goes, I really loved it! The number of times that I laughed out loud, probably looking like a crazy person, was quite a lot. There was plenty of tension and suspense in the story. I personally believe the characters were well rounded and had depth to them.
I really cannot recommend this book enough. If you are looking for a good audio book to listen to, then look no further; this is it. This book was nearly a 5-star read for me; it only missed it by a hair. I need book 2 like I need air.
