i didn’t like how main characters met for the first time. taranis spanked fmc for answers- wtf?? he was acting like a spoiled child.

i liked quinn.
“It's part of my appeal. That and my epic tits," she replied, placing her arm under the running tap.
Taranis's eyes dropped to her bloody tank top. "They are rather epic."
"Thanks. I made them myself.”

but she sometimes sounded obnoxious. i felt like she hit a switch at the middle of the book.

i think i’m going to read next books in the series. i want to read imogen’s story. she seemed as badass as they get.

I love Alessa Thorn. If she wrote it, I’m reading it. But my problem with this third installment is the problem I had with the third book in Wrath of Faes. It’s a predictable pattern. Quinn helps bring the overall fight against the Big Bad to a conclusion but her part is predictable. She has dreams of the alters. They find the alters. Fight monsters who are guarding the altars (and despite this playing out exactly the same in two previous books, they are surprised by the monsters). The one dimensional bad guy invades the FMC’s dreams. There’s a battle that the good guys win quickly and easily. The bad guy is defeated quickly and pathetically.

I like this family of characters and I like the world. I will definitely read the Greatdrakes series when it emerges. She’s still a great writer and I still adore her.

But I must say that her works where bad guys are the heroes are better: Court of Underworld and Mercenaries and Magic.

I love this series you know exactly what to expect and it delivers every time.

Pros: excellent world building and characters arcs
Cons: sometimes it's hard to keep track of everyone.

Also when is Imogen's secret going to come out!

Dragon Daddy

Let’s be honest, Alessa Thorn can do no wrong. I’ve wanted to live in this universe since Kian stormed London but each book seems to get even better. Taranis is a moody dragon that wants nothing but to finish his mission and restore magic. Quinn just wants to be accepted for who she is and what she wants and might be a little bit bossy and bada$$. Taran never stood a chance! This is a definite must read! Oberon, Mananan and Taranis’ banter is perfecting as his Taranis and Quinn’s banter. Seriously this is one perfect family!
